Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What is Business Economics?

Business Economics is the application of economics to the real world of business, the economy and finance. It involves the application of both microeconomic and macroeconomic theory combined with relevant data to analyse business problems, decision making, strategy formulation and the design of economic policy.

The core of business economics lies in microeconomic theory, industrial organisation and management strategy. Nonetheless, it is recognised that firms and companies also have to operate in the fast changing macroeconomc and financial environment so optimal decision making also requires a study of the business, economics and finance literature.
