The Economics and Politics of Brexit
Here at BusinessEconomics.com we are pro the United Kingdom remaining in the European Union and believe that the vote for Brexit was in large part due to a very poor campaign by the remainers and also that a pack of lies were told by the Brexiteers that fooled some voters into voting Brexit. We still hope that the UK citizens will get a second referendum on the deal that is negotiated with the EU and hope that such a second referendum will result in the UK citizens deciding that it is better to remain in the EU rather than exiting. In the meantime, there are many issues and questions raised by Brexit and we believe that the public can benefit from a better understanding of Brexit related questions. So below are some of the key issues related to Brexit as we see them along with relevant material. This page will be updated from time to time as the issues evolve. 1 What is the difference between a “Hard Brexit” and a “Soft Brexit”? https://www.theguardian.com/politics/audio/2016/ dec/06/brexit-means-podcast-the-story-so-far (Weekly Guardian podcast) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-37507129 http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-hard-soft-what-is-the-difference-uk-eu-single-market-freedom-movement-theresa-may-a7342591.html “Red White and Blue Brexit !” https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-12-06/may-says-she-ll-seek-red-white-and-blue-brexit-as-talks-near 2 Discuss the possible alternatives open to the UK once it leaves the European Union.
